Fort Wayne - After a four-game series against in-state South Bend, the Fort Wayne Wizards return to Memorial Stadium for a seven-game homestand starting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12th against the West Michigan Whitecaps, the Midwest League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

SOUTH BEND, IN---A one-out double by Sean Coughlin in the bottom of the 11th inning scored Evan Frey with the winning run, as the South Bend Silver Hawks rallied from deficits of 3-2, 4-2, and 5-4 to defeat the Fort Wayne Wizards by a score of 6-5 on Thursday night, in a game played in front of 686 fans at Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium.

On Monday, January 28, 2008, the first of the concrete was poured for the ballpark at Harrison Square in downtown Fort Wayne. The future home of the Fort Wayne Wizards is scheduled to be completed in time for Opening Day of the 2009 season, and with the initial concrete pour on Monday, it appears as if everything is right on schedule.
